Mrs. Ricks holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development from The University of Texas at Austin, a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Texas State University and has spent her career in one capacity or another in Child Welfare. Upon graduation in 1999, Mrs. Ricks went to work for The Department of Family and Protective Services where she spent 12 years as a child abuse investigator and investigative supervisor in the Austin, Plano, and Dallas areas. While traveling the country for the next decade with her husband to various military bases, she provided parenting education, training, and support to families with children ages 0-24 months. Recently returning to Texas Mrs. Ricks settled in the Decatur area and currently provides therapy services to children in the foster care system and consulting with Color me SAFE.
